Soleil Amara
Soleil first stepped on the dance stage at the age of three. From that first performance, she knew, and it was clear to the audience, that dance was her calling.
Soleil studied all genres of dance growing up in Bermuda with United Dance Productions. She was a part of Troika’s “Young Choreographers Showcase” as both a dancer and choreographer. Dance has taken Soleil across the ocean.
Her first experience outside of Bermuda was at Alvin Ailey’s Summer intensive in 2015. In 2017 she attended “PULSE” hip hop dance convention, where her solo won a distinction for her personality and expression on stage. Her most transformative dance experience was auditioning and being selected for Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s summer intensive (2019). She had the opportunity to spend a summer at her Los Angeles studios dancing under the direction of Ms. Allen herself!
Whilst at Debbie Allen Dance Academy, her love for musical theatre was blossomed. Camp Broadway was a mainstay of her summers from 2013-2016; she also participated in the Bermudian production of The Color Purple (2016). The theatre had always been an interest, but a summer of West Side Story, directed by the Debbie Allen, sealed the deal. She was hooked.
Soleil graduated from The Williston Northampton School, in Massachusetts, where she balanced acting, singing, and dancing with her academic interests. Outside of the dance studio and theatre stage she developed a keen interest in journalism. During her time at Williston, Soleil performed in “A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” (2021), “Mamma Mia!” (2022), and The SpongeBob Musical both as the lead and a choreographer (2023). Soleil finished her time on the Williston Dance Team as Dance Captain (2024) and focused on presenting choreography in two showcases a year.
Soleil now attends The Boston Conservatory at The Berklee School of Music, pursuing a B.F.A in Dance with an emphasis on commercial styles. In just her first year, she has performed in One Sweet Day—A Mariah Carey Tribute, Throb: The Boston Conservatory Commercial Showcase, and several other music videos and projects. She hopes to, one day, dance on stages, in arenas, and screens all over the world. Soleil is committed to bringing her unique combination of passion, drive, and the desire to grow, to each and every project.
